Job Description

Overview of the Role 🔍
Assist the Cost Controller in monitoring revenues, costs, and inventory across hotel operations. The role ensures accurate stock control, inventory management, and reporting while contributing to effective cost control and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities 📋
•    Participate in training programmes and apply acquired knowledge and procedures in daily operations.
•    Keep the Cost Controller informed of any unusual matters, discrepancies, or issues impacting the department's operations.
•    Support the supervision and monitoring of outlet activities to ensure compliance with cost control procedures.
•    Provide efficient and professional service to both internal and external stakeholders.
•    Maintain positive working relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments.
•    Support the hotel's sustainability and environmental initiatives in line with established standards.
•    Monitor and verify food and beverage cost calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with established controls.
•    Prepare and maintain inventory, cost, purchase, reconciliation, and consumption reports as required.
•    Assist in the preparation and verification of daily revenue reports based on hotel operating systems and audit records.
•    Review and analyse revenue transactions to identify discrepancies, control weaknesses, and opportunities for process improvement.
•    Compile statistical and operational data to support financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
•    Promote and support energy-saving initiatives and cost-conscious practices throughout operations.
•    Conduct regular inspections of stores, outlets, bars, and other operational areas to verify stock quality, condition, and compliance with standards.
•    Assist with inventory reconciliations and ensure that purchases, issues, sales, and stock movements are accurately recorded and accounted for.
•    Support and oversee stock-taking activities across operational departments to ensure accuracy and adherence to established procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile 🎯
•    Higher School Certificate with Accounting and Mathematics at A-Level or equivalent; ACCA Level 1 would be an advantage.
•    Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, with knowledge of inventory/material control and Food & Beverage operations.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems (e.g., Opera, Micros, WinHMS), with strong attention to detail and stock control practices.
