Job Description
The Associate will provide
support to the Enterprise and Operational Risk team in identifying, measuring,
assessing, managing, and mitigating Enterprise & Operational Risk across
the bank through the bank’s Risk Management Framework. This role will assist in
ensuring that the bank’s risk exposure is effectively monitored and managed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist the Risk Analyst for consolidating and coordinating with Stakeholders for risk Committees pack preparation.
· Follow up on action points following risk committees’ decisions.
· Support Business Units in implementing action plans approved by various risk committees/forums of the bank.
· Assist Business Units in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Key Controls to ensure Operational Risk remains within the bank’s risk appetite.
· Assist the team in the computation of the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) for onward reporting to the relevant risk committee.
· Monitor Risk Weighted Assets (RWA) and provide support to ensure capital optimization.
· Assist the team to prepare the annual ICAAP report.
· Assist the team to conduct root cause analysis on Operational Risk (OR) incidents under supervision.
· Support the development, compilation, and review of Risk Registers.
· Assist in the preparation of various risk-related reports and regulatory submissions.
· Assist in the analysis of operational risk trends and provide insights for reporting purposes.
· Assist in reviewing the bank’s policies on a regular basis.
· Assist in the preparation of presentations for various risk committees, as and when required.
· Follow up on issues raised by Central Bank, Auditors, and other stakeholders.
· Stay updated on emerging risks and best practices in operational risk management locally and internationally.
· Assist the team to deliver training to Risk Champions.
PREREQUISITES:
· Degree in Accounting, Banking, Risk Management, Finance from a recognized institution.
· 1 - 2 years of banking or risk management experience (or equivalent exposure through -internships or rotational programs).
· Ability to maintain high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
SKILLS:
· Good verbal and written communication and reporting skills.
· Versed with regulatory guidelines.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office tools with command of Microsoft Excel at advanced levels
· Show resilience and be able to work under pressure within set deliverables
