Responsibilities

• Verify point-of-sale (POS) data from the forecourt and convenience store against bank deposits.
• Manage receivables, monitor corporate fleet accounts, issue statements, and follow up on outstanding client payments.
• Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
• Prepare payment batches and obtain required approvals.
• Perform Bank Reconciliation.
• Conduct periodic physical counts of convenience store merchandise, reconciling inventory costs with sales records.
• Assist in Payroll Preparation.
• Ensure timely statutory submissions including VAT, TDS, and other statutory returns.
• Maintain aged receivables and payables reports.
• Prepare and post journal entries.
• Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
• Support the preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Ensure proper filing of all accounting documents.
• Prepare financial analysis as requested.
• Support the external auditors.
• Support ad-hoc tasks.

Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Accounting/Finance / ACCA or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft Business Central would be a plus).
• Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
• Hand on experience with various client payment methods such as card, mobile app, etc.
• Ability to handle large volume data for bank reconciliation.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
• Experience in the retail industry would be an advantage.
