Job Description
MauBank is seeking a highly
experienced and visionary Senior Manager – Procurement to lead its procurement
function. This senior leadership role is central to ensuring cost efficiency,
supplier governance, regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic
transformation initiatives that strengthen operational resilience and
sustainability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute procurement strategies across IT, Professional Services, Facilities, and Outsourced Services.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, negotiate complex contracts, and ensure supplier performance compliance through KPIs and governance frameworks.
- Deliver measurable cost savings, efficiency improvements, and embed sustainable procurement practices that create long term value.
- Ensure 100% adherence to Bank of Mauritius guidelines, audit standards, and internal governance frameworks.
- Maintain transparent documentation of procurement decisions, approvals, and supplier contracts.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high performing procurement team, fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Drive succession planning and capability growth within the procurement function.
- Represent procurement in strategic projects, including digital transformation, sustainability initiatives, and resilience programs.
- Contribute to business continuity planning through robust vendor risk management and contingency strategies.
- Provide procurement expertise in project planning, budgeting, and execution phases.
PREREQUISITES:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (master’s preferred).
- Professional certification such as CIPS or equivalent strongly desirable.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record in cost optimization, supplier management, and regulatory compliance within complex organizations.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries is an advantage.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing stakeholders, and delivering procurement transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of ESG principles and their application in procurement.
- Familiarity with digital procurement tools, automation platforms, and data analytics.
