ABOUT THE ROLE
================================================================

We're expanding our QA function. You will collaborate closely with our QA Automation Engineer to own day-to-day functional testing across web, mobile, and back-office, ensuring every release meets our quality bar before it reaches our customers.

This role is built for a strong functional tester who takes pride in finding what others miss — someone with sharp attention to detail, structured thinking, and a real curiosity for how products behave. There is also genuine scope to grow into automation over time for those who want it.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

--- Testing & Quality Ownership ---

- Execute functional, exploratory, and regression tests for new features and releases across web, mobile, and back-office platforms.
- Validate behavior across multiple markets and country-specific configurations.
- Identify, reproduce, and document defects with clear repro steps, environment details, and supporting evidence.
- Proactively surface quality risks, edge cases, and gaps that aren't covered by tickets or specs.
- Be the last line of defense before features ship — own the call on whether something is release-ready.

--- Test Case Authoring & Documentation ---

- Translate product specs and feature requirements into clear, structured functional test cases.
- Author test cases in the team's management systems using the established PRE-CONDITIONS / TEST STEPS / POST-CONDITIONS format.
- Maintain the QA test repository so it stays trustworthy, organized, and current.
- Continuously refine and expand the coverage of regression test suites.

--- Release & Workflow Coordination ---

- Participate in the new-feature testing pipeline: pick up tickets, run validations, publish results, and close the loop through close communication with developers and stakeholders.
- Liaise with developers throughout the release cycle — clarify behavior, share findings early, and confirm fixes.
- Follow established QA workflows for ticket closure, passing comments, and stakeholder communication.
- Partner with the Product Manager and the QA Automation Engineer on release readiness.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
================================================================

--- Must Have ---

- 2+ years of manual QA experience on web and/or mobile consumer products.
- Strong test-case writing discipline — structured formats (Ex: Gherkin, PRE/STEPS/POST, or equivalent), not ad-hoc checklists.
- Sharp attention to detail and strong exploratory testing instincts — you don't just follow scripts.
- Bug reporting hygiene: clean reproduction steps, environment context, expected vs actual, attached evidence.
- Excellent written and spoken English (the team is distributed and operates in writing).
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, and accountable — you can own a feature end-to-end without daily supervision.
- Growth mindset and good attitude — open to feedback, eager to learn, and ready to take on new skills as the role evolves.
- Hybrid work availability in Mauritius (3 days on-site / 2 remote).

--- Nice to Have ---

- Experience in betting, gaming, online casino, or fintech — or strong willingness to learn the iGaming domain quickly.
- Exposure to back-office / admin tools, not just consumer-facing UIs.
- Comfortable reading code (JavaScript, TypeScript, or SQL) to verify behavior — you don't need to write it.
- API testing basics (Postman, Insomnia, or similar).
- Mobile testing across Android + iOS, including real-device or device-cloud (BrowserStack, etc.).
- Familiarity with issue-tracking and team management systems (Jira or equivalent).
- Any interest or exposure to test automation (TypeScript, Playwright, Cypress, etc.) — even hobby level.
- French (useful for our West African markets).
