Job Description
The Commis, is responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen efficiently. This role is vital in ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation are maintained at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in food preparation tasks as directed by senior chefs.
- Follow recipes and presentation standards set by the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas.
- Ensure all food products are stored properly and used efficiently to minimize wastes.
- Support various sections of the kitchen (hot, cold, pastry, etc.) as needed.
- Peel, chop, measure, and portion ingredients according to specifications.
- Comply with health and safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
- Ensure kitchen tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- NC3 in Kitchen department or other equivalent certifications.
- Minimum 1 of experience in a professional kitchen, with at least 1 year in a similar role.
- Food Safety and Hygiene Certification.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
