Position Summary

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing sales and marketing strategies for the Specialty Products Business Unit to achieve revenue growth, market expansion, customer acquisition, and profitability objectives. The role involves leading the sales team, managing key customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, overseeing marketing initiatives, and ensuring strong market positioning of specialty products.

The incumbent will collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, finance, and product development teams to align commercial strategies with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Management

  • Develop and implement annual sales plans and revenue targets for specialty products.
  • Lead, coach, and monitor the sales team to achieve performance objectives.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, market segments, and strategic accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, industrial customers, and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular sales forecasting, pipeline management, and performance analysis.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and commercial terms with clients.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to maintain competitive advantage.

Marketing Management

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns for specialty products.
  • Manage product positioning, branding, and promotional activities.
  • Coordinate digital marketing, advertising, exhibitions, trade shows, and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Conduct market research and customer analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product development teams on product launches and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor marketing ROI and campaign effectiveness.

Business Development

  • Identify opportunities for product diversification and market expansion.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and alliances.
  • Evaluate emerging market trends and customer needs.
  • Prepare business cases and commercial proposals for new initiatives.

Financial & Operational Management

  • Prepare and manage sales and marketing budgets.
  • Ensure achievement of profitability and margin targets.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate demand planning with supply chain teams.
  • Prepare monthly management reports and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate sales and marketing personnel.
  • Foster a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
  • Set KPIs and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Promote collaboration across departments.

Job Specification

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales Management, or related field.
  • MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in sales and marketing roles.
  • At least 3 years in a managerial or leadership position.
  • Experience in specialty products, industrial products, FMCG, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, or related sectors is preferred.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales growth and market expansion.
