Job Description
The Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the retail outlet to ensure consistent product quality, optimal operational efficiency, and an excellent customer experience. The role also ensures compliance with hygiene, food safety, and company standards while supporting overall team performance.
Location: Tamarin, Black River
1. Store Operations Management
- Maintain strong knowledge of products, ingredients, product characteristics, and storage requirements to ensure quality and food safety standards are met.
- Ensure products are displayed attractively and in line with company merchandising standards.
- Supervise stock management, prepare replenishment orders, and submit them to Store Management.
- Implement measures to minimize losses and optimize profitability.
- Oversee waste management and ensure environmental procedures are followed.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures including store opening/closing, cash handling, stock counts, and operational standards.
- Identify and report any non-compliance issues to Store Management.
2. Team Management & Development
- Supervise, train, and support sales staff in their daily responsibilities.
- Prepare and organize staff schedules according to operational needs.
- Oversee daily activities and ensure efficient task allocation.
- Maintain a positive, motivating, and productive work environment.
- Handle conflicts professionally and support employee development.
- Evaluate individual performance and contribute to team skill development.
3. Sales Performance & Customer Service
- Contribute actively to achieving store sales targets.
- Deliver excellent customer service and lead by example.
- Welcome, advise, and assist customers while promoting suitable and complementary products.
- Ensure products are consistently presented in an attractive manner.
- Manage special orders, quotations, and sales finalization.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and effectively.
- Demonstrate resilience under pressure and in challenging situations.
- Participate in the improvement and development of products and services.
- Review sales reports and provide feedback to Store Management.
- Monitor KPIs and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Compliance, Hygiene & Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain consistent product quality by regularly checking freshness and presentation.
- Conduct regular quality checks and manage any non-conformities.
- Ensure cleaning and maintenance plans are properly executed according to company standards.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of bakery, pastry, and catering products.
- Understanding of food hygiene and food safety standards.
- Stock management, product rotation, and loss control.
- Familiarity with POS systems and customer service best practices.
- .1-2 years of industry experience
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma (Bac +2) in Business, Management, Hospitality, Food Service, or related field.
- HACCP or Food Safety/Hygiene training is a strong advantage.
- Certification in team management or supervision is considered an asset.
