Job Description

Key Resposibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals, snacks, and beverages for staff according to the established menu and schedule.
  • Carry out daily food preparation and mise en place for staff meals and service.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to hygiene and quality standards.
  • Serve meals and beverages to employees at the specified service times.
  • Ensure correct portioning and proper food handling procedures are followed at all times.
  • Monitor food temperatures and comply with procedures regarding cooking, chilling, reheating, and food holding.
  • Ensure sufficient preparation of ingredients such as vegetables, salads, fruits, meats, and other food items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the canteen, kitchen, storage areas, and preparation stations.
  • Wash and sanitize kitchen utensils, equipment, and workstations after use.
  • Ensure all floor, wall, and work surfaces are kept clean and hygienic.
  • Store food items properly and ensure stock rotation practices are respected.
  • Report any shortages, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues to the Supervisor.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries when required.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, health & safety, and fire regulations.
  • Ensure economical use of food supplies and minimize waste whenever possible.
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen and canteen team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Assist with deep cleaning duties as scheduled by Management.
  • Maintain a professional and positive attitude when interacting with employees and colleagues.
  • Follow instructions and recipes provided by the Supervisor or Management.
  • Ensure the serving counter and canteen area are properly set up before each meal service.
  • Remain knowledgeable about the daily menu and any special dietary requirements if applicable.
  • Perform any cognate duties as may be required by the direct Superior or the Management.
