Overview

We are engaging two Full-Stack Contractors to expand platform development capacity. These roles require developers who can integrate quickly into an existing and evolving codebase and contribute productively following a short orientation. Foundational concepts will not be taught.

The lead developer is based on the US East Coast. Contractors are expected to work independently in an async-first environment, with structured overlap sessions for collaboration. All work is tracked in Jira.

The Role

You will work as a full-stack contractor contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of the platform.

Work will vary depending on priorities and may include:

• Tactical feature development (implementing specifications, extending APIs, building UI components)
• Longer-term engineering tasks with guidance from the lead developer

You are expected to own tasks end-to-end: understand the codebase, interpret context, ask the right questions upfront, and deliver independently without handholding.

Technology Stack

Core (Required)

• React with TypeScript (components, hooks, state management)
• NestJS (REST APIs, modules, services, guards, decorators)
• TypeORM with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) (schema design, migrations, queries)
• Third-party REST API integration
• Node.js (async patterns, runtime, npm ecosystem)

Helpful (Not Required)

• Python (scripting and tooling)
• Microsoft Azure (App Services, SQL, Storage, Key Vault concepts)
• AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code or similar)

Ways of Working

• Work is planned and tracked in Jira; strong ticket hygiene is expected
• Async-first communication with structured overlap sessions with US East Coast lead developer
• Independent execution expected during working hours
• PR-based workflow with clean, focused pull requests and clear context
• Code reviews conducted by the lead developer
• AI tools may be used to accelerate development, but full understanding of all code is required
• Contractors must proactively communicate blockers and avoid guessing or waiting silently

What We’re Looking For

• Solid working knowledge of React, NestJS, and relational databases
• Experience shipping real features in a production codebase
• Ability to navigate and work within an existing codebase without extensive guidance
• Strong written communication for async collaboration (updates, questions, PR descriptions)
• Self-directed mindset with strong ownership of tasks
• Collaborative approach — able to align with existing architecture and flag issues early
• Comfortable using AI-assisted tools while maintaining hands-on engineering capability
