Riou Ocean Glass Ltd is a French owned company specialising in the design and manufacturing of innovative, trend-driven and high-performance glass products for the local and export markets.

As part of the expansion of our activities and to meet new challenges, we are recruiting a diligent, motivated and dynamic candidate for the position of Purchasing, Imports & Exports Logistics Officer.

We are looking for a results-oriented & dedicated professional who will oversee all aspects of import and exports processes. 

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be mainly required for :

Ø  Analyse and anticipate market trends for timely purchases of inventory

Ø  Liaise with the different stakeholders to secure the best possible deals with a focus on profitability.

Ø  Engage in negotiations with suppliers & ensuring that best offers are received in freight and related services while exploring opportunities of long-term relationships with Suppliers

Ø  Communicate with freight agents to ensure accurate shipment optimization

Ø  Create and send purchase orders to local and foreign suppliers

Ø  Coordinate all inbound and outbound traffic, maximizing cost effectiveness and tracking all consignment

Ø  Prepare accurate bills of landing and bills of entry

Ø  Create and send purchase orders to local and foreign suppliers

Ø  Follow with Customers and suppliers about respective air or sea shipment

Ø  Schedule shipments and coordinate the transportation of goods

Ø  Work collaboratively with the production and sales teams so that commercial strategies are achieved through timely execution of exports

Ø  Ensure that the level of service provided to internal and external stakeholders is up to standard

Ø  Responds to Supplier and customers queries and refer to the appropriate channels

Ø  Adhere to all internals policies, procedures and applicable laws and regulations

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum: High School Certificate, Diploma or Degree in Logistics and Transport or equivalent.

Proficient in MS Office (Word & Excel) and working knowledge of an ERP system.

At least 5 years’ experience in import and exports activities and transactions

Fluent in English and French (written and spoken) with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Other Requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, trustworthy with strong organizational skills.

Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced manufacturing business environment, meet customers deadlines and must be willing to perform at odd hours.

Goal-oriented with a strong leadership, ensure the operations and run smoothly.

Holder of a valid driving license.

Well verse in processing COMESA/ SADC Exports Documentation, Customs Procedure, liaising with concerned Stake Holders.
