About the Role
The Mixologist is responsible for assisting the Manager, Outlet in ensuring consistency in beverage mixing and excellent service in all bars as well as in maintaining beverage cost.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure first class beverage service.
- To create recipes for signature cocktails for major events, marketing and upselling to maximize profits and guest satisfaction.
- To create and implement methods for developing new recipes.
- To assist the Manager, Outlet in preparing the beverage menu.
- To ensure safety and cleanliness at all times.
- To prepare aspiring barmen for beverage competition.
- To ensure that checklists, requisitions as well as proper opening and closing functions are being completed at each shift.
- To attend daily briefing (line up) and to communicate important events/ information to all employees.
- To communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear direction to the staff.
- To organize and conduct departmental meetings.
- To interact positively with customers by promoting and cross-selling hotel facilities and services.
- To answer telephones in a clear voice, to coordinate and to document reservations.
- To organize special events in the restaurant.
- Maintain rapport with all departments and to attend relevant meetings when required.
- To utilize computer to accurately charge customers and to create forecast and revenue reports.
- To ensure that all cash handling procedures of the hotel are met.
- To solicit feedback from guests concerning the service and beverage offerings in all outlets.
- To work closely with Manager, Outlet and Assistant Manager, Restaurant in monthly beverage, glass, and linen inventory.
- To efficiently administer and action the daily mail, guest report lists, staff schedules, and other paperwork that is required as well as to ensure accurate notes are kept and are accessible.
- To ensure all daily and monthly reports are detailed and submitted on time.
About You
The desired qualification for this role is at least a School Certificate and a National Certificate level 3 in Restaurant and Bar Service. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
