Tax Associate – French Speaker | VAT IT Compliance | Grand Baie, Mauritius

Skills / Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Fluent in Parisian French, both written and verbal — this is essential
  • Experience in B2B services within the French market
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law or a related field — required
  • A genuine interest in taxation and a hunger to learn and develop rapidly
  • Strong Excel skills and solid mathematical ability
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and tax authorities
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Job Description:

  • Manage designated client accounts and provide technical VAT support across their global operations
  • Capture, process, and analyse client tax data accurately and efficiently
  • Prepare and file VAT returns, ECSLs, intrastat reports, and other relevant compliance submissions
  • Perform VAT compliance checks to ensure accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Conduct technical research on VAT and indirect tax matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Handle and resolve client and tax authority queries in a timely and professional manner
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal team members
  • Communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders including clients, partners, and tax authorities
  • Support audit preparation and responses as required
