Role Purpose: 

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the daily operations of our shop that specializes in Italian products, by interacting with customers, assisting in sales, and maintaining the presentation and organization of the shop.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Conduct sales transactions efficiently, handle cash and card payments, and operate the cash register.
• Assist in achieving sales targets through active selling and promotional efforts.
• Inform customers about special promotions, loyalty programs, or new products.
• Assist in receiving, unpacking, and arranging new stock deliveries.
• Help maintain accurate inventory by participating in stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
• Ensure that the shop floor is well-stocked, organized, and presentable at all times.
• Keep the shop clean and tidy, including shelves, counters, and display areas.
• Ensure that products, especially fresh items, are properly displayed, rotated, and stored to maintain quality.
• Assist in setting up and updating product displays and visual merchandising elements.
• Handle fresh products appropriately, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Ensure proper storage and presentation of fresh items to maintain their quality and appeal.
• Work collaboratively with the Shop Supervisor and other team members to ensure smooth shop operations.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving customer experience and shop performance. 

Qualifications and Experience: 

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred but not essential.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies: 

• Basic knowledge of sales principles and customer service practices. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Behavioural Competencies: 

• A friendly and engaging personality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Willingness to learn about Italian products and fresh produce.
