Job Description
Overview of the Role:
The trainee will support data management, reporting, research, and process documentation activities within the sustainability team. This role is suited for a recent graduate or a university student with a strong interest in sustainability, data analysis, and corporate reporting systems.
- This position will be based in Mapou for a period of 3 months.
Main Responsibilities:
Sustainability Data Support
- Assist in consolidating and validating sustainability data across business units
- Support monthly updates of the sustainability dashboard
- Identify data gaps and follow up with internal stakeholders
- Support checks for data consistency, accuracy, and traceability
- Assist in structuring datasets for carbon footprint assessments and ESG disclosures
Reporting & Analysis
- Contribute to internal and external sustainability reporting exercises
- Support preparation of data for carbon footprint calculations
- Assist in analysing consumption profiles (energy, water, waste, etc.)
- Conduct basic trend and variance analysis
Process & Procedure Documentation
- Assist in documenting data collection procedures and reporting workflows
- Support the formalisation of sustainability reporting processes
- Help map data flows and define roles/responsibilities for data owners
- Contribute to improving internal controls related to sustainability data
Certification renewal
- Assist in certification renewal related tasks
Research & Benchmarking
- Research sustainability best practices and emerging ESG trends
- Support preparation of briefing notes and comparative analyses
Candidate's Profile:
- Currently completing or recently completed a degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Engineering, or related field
- Strong affinity with data and structured analytical work
- Proficient in Excel (Power BI or similar tools is an advantage)
- Detail-oriented with an organised approach to work
- Ability to communicate clearly with different stakeholders.
