Job Description

The People Business Partner (PBP) is responsible for the overall People strategy and operations of Mubex and ABI Shared Services Africa. The PBP serves as the People driver and coach, working with line managers to deliver People processes (e.g. recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent management and development, organization and people reviews and engagement). The PBP focuses on the value added by those processes and the HR services delivered to their function.

Key roles and responsibilities

     •Drive the full spectrum of People (HR) strategy in Mauritius ensuring alignment with Global and Zone initiatives & Ensure the overall health of human capital and People practices.
Apply AB InBev values and guiding principles.
Leverage data analytics and insights to facilitate decision-making and create a compelling business case for initiatives & Diagnose business problems to create effective and integrated People solutions.
Scan market trends to provide ideas, concepts, and technologies that will enhance ABI’s workforce.
Implement, monitor and evaluate the on-boarding program.
Enhance the employee experience by leveraging methods to understand employee perspective, recommend and implement ideas.
Drive employee engagement via survey management, participation and follow through with  local leadership team to improve score.
Act as guardian of People policies and procedures.
People budget ownership for Mubex & ABI Shared Services Africa including headcount and cost management.
Identify & implement the organizational capabilities required to achieve function goals.
Recruit deliberately for identified competencies and/or ensure IDPs are aligned to ensure acquisition and/or development of critical management skills.
Develop coaching skills within line managers by providing tools, observing and providing feedback.
Lead, coach and manage direct reports in performance delivery.
Monitor organization performance & provide visibility thereof.
Have strong, working knowledge of Industrial Relations (IR) and disciplinary processes, with the ability to independently manage complex cases. Provide comprehensive support on all IR matters, ensuring alignment with company policies, local labour legislation, and best practice. Lead and manage disciplinary processes end-to-end, including investigations, hearings, documentation, and outcomes, ensuring procedural fairness at all times.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of MAU payroll taxes and supporting compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls. Collaborate with payroll and finance teams to ensure accuracy in tax calculations, reporting, and reconciliations related to MAU payroll processes. Stay updated on changes in payroll tax legislation and assess implications for business operations. 

Qualifications and Behavioral Competencies

Tertiary qualification in Psychology/Human Resources Management
3+ years Human Resources Generalist experience
Good performance track record
Ambassador of AB InBev 10 Principles
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach leaders
Has credibility and presence
Solid business acumen
Customer focused and able to partner with multiple stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication
Able to deal with ambiguity clearly and concisely

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail/ accuracy/ timelines
