Job Description

Responsibilities

Mont Choisy Group entities include: Mont Choisy Le Mall, Head Office, Mont Choisy Le Golf, Estate & Facilities, Agri Business, Leisure & Wellness and SMART City. The responsibilities and duties and apply to all the entities mentioned above.

 

  • To carry out regular occupational safety and health audits to identify safety and health risk
  • To assess the need for preventive measures to safeguard the safety and health of employees and third parties
  • To conduct regular and thorough risk assessments across all operational areas of the organization.

  • To design and implement appropriate training programmes to meet the requirements of the OSHA Act and any other enactment dealing with occupational safety and health, and keep proper records thereof
  • To organize annual Health and Safety week to promote the practice and importance of safety and health at work and also sensitize the prevention of occupational accidents at the workplace;
  • To review any measure, method, procedure or technique adopted to ensure occupational safety and health at the work place at intervals of not more than 2 years or at such intervals as the Permanent Secretary may direct in writing and keep proper records of same;
  • To advise the employer through the various Heads in writing on practical measures and appropriate techniques to be implemented to minimize any Health and Safety risk or hazard;
  • To develop effective communication systems on occupational safety and health between the employer and the employees;
  • To inspect all places of work under responsibility at least once every month, record findings in the register provided by the employer and ensure appropriate agreed actions are implemented;
  • To fully investigate any accident and report thereon with recommended action classified under various categories of urgencies.
  • To prepare a performance report every six months;
  • To conduct site inspections where contractors are working and ensure that their Health & Safety Officers attend to all Health & Safety matters to protect their group’s image as a socially responsible employer;

·        To exercise adequate supervision in ensuring the effective implementation of arrangements made, and preventive- measures taken, by the employer and enquire into –

 

        i.          all complaints made by an employee     

    ii.          occupational accidents and dangerous occurrences at any place of work and make a written report thereon,

 

  • To recommend in writing any safety and health measures to be implemented by the employer; 
  • To perform a complete risk assessment of all activities and set up an action plan for improvement in order to ensure safe work sites, safe movement of people and safe storage and use of articles and substances;
  • To organize bi-monthly Health and Safety Committee meetings;

Any other assignments within the scope of Health & Safety as delegated by Management.

 Education & Qualifications

  • Degree in Occupational, Safety and Health;
  • Knowledge of Safety and Health Practices / Policies & Procedures;
  • Sound Knowledge of OSHA 2005;
  • Registered Health & Safety Practitioner.

 Relevant Experience

 

  • At least 3-5 years’ of relevant experience.

 

 Candidates residing in the North region would be considered a distinct advantage.
