The Project Engineer plays a key role in the successful delivery of solar PV projects across the full project lifecycle, from design coordination and site execution to commissioning and handover.

Reporting to the Construction Team Manager, he will work closely with Project Managers, Project Executives, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Development teams to ensure proper technical coordination, site execution, and alignment between design and construction activities. The role is primarily focused on technical ownership, site coordination, quality control, and interface management.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in preparation tender submissions in line with client specifications and deadlines
Coordinate with procurement team, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and technical data
Support preparation of cost inputs and commercial comparisons for tendering purposes
During planning stage, coordinate with Engineering teams on engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure alignment between design and execution
Coordinate with Engineering teams on design clarifications, revisions, and technical queries for alignment between design and site conditions
Prepare and review method statements, inspection and test plans, and technical submissions
Assist in the preparation of RFPs, service and supplier agreements till the appointment of service providers
Oversee installation of electrical systems specific to PV plants, such as PV modules, inverters, transformers, SCADA systems, weather monitoring stations, and communication infrastructure
Ensure that all electrical works are performed in compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project specifications
Ensure safe work practices are enforced on-site, particularly regarding electrical safety
Coordinate and supervise day-to-day site activities with contractors and subcontractors
• Monitor installation and ensure proper sequencing and coordination between the work packages
• Ensure works are executed in compliance with project specifications, drawings, and applicable
standards by conducting inspections of works performed, and follow up on non-conformities
• Participate in commissioning and testing activities in coordination with contractors and engineers
• Assist in preparation of as-built documentation and handover deliverables
• Provide site progress inputs and support monitoring of progress against schedule, cost and quality
• Identify constraints impacting productivity, project risks and propose mitigation measures
• Support Procurement in technical evaluation of materials and verify compliance of delivered
materials
• Perform any other cognate duties related to the role as may be assigned by its reporting line

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (BEng) in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or equivalent
• Minimum 2-5 years experience in project preparation, coordination till commissioning and/or solar
PV projects
• Good understanding of LV, MV, and HV systems (up to 66kV), with hands-on experience in
installation and commissioning
• Familiarity with PV plant systems including inverters, transformers, SCADA, metering, and weather
monitoring
• Good knowledge of electrical codes, grid compliance standards, and safety regulations
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
