Job Purpose:

To ensure the smooth execution of sea clearing operations by managing documentation, coordinating with Customs, Govt agencies, carriers and customers, and maintaining compliance with national and international regulations. The role supports timely and cost-effective movement of goods while delivering high-quality service to clients.

Job Responsibilities:

• Customs Documentation Preparation: Prepare and process customs documentation such as import/export declarations, permits and certificates
• Customs Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international Customs regulations, including tariff classifications, valuation, and duty rates
• Customer/Supplier Communication: Communicate with customer/supplier regarding Customs requirements, documentation, and clearance status, providing assistance and guidance as needed
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in other departments, such as logistics, operations, and customer service, to ensure smooth coordination of Customs clearance processes
• Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve issues related to Customs clearance, such as missing or incorrect documentation, Customs holds, or delays
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on changes in Customs regulations and procedures, implementing improvements to ensure efficient Customs clearance processes

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of the sea clearing operation process would be an advantage
• SC/HSC or equivalent
• Well versed with Excel spreadsheets, using vlookup and pivot tables 
• Excellent communication and organization skills
• Have a strong work ethic 
• Be problem-solving and customer service oriented
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver results
• Attention to details
• Holding of a clean Driving License
