About the Role

Veranda Tamarin is looking for a professional, guest-focused and detail-oriented Front Office Officer to join our Front Office team.

As a Front Office Officer, you will be responsible for welcoming and assisting guests throughout their stay while ensuring efficient front office operations, accurate handling of guest accounts and adherence to our service standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests and efficiently manage check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Provide guests with information about the hotel, facilities, services and local activities.
  • Conduct hotel visits and explain room amenities and equipment to guests.
  • Accompany guests to their rooms and ensure a smooth arrival experience.
  • Handle guest requests, comments and complaints and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Assist guests with foreign currency transactions in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate luggage collection and airport transportation arrangements when required.
  • Operate the hotel's telephone system professionally and efficiently.
  • Coordinate weddings and other special events involving guests.
  • Collect and maintain guest preferences and feedback.
  • Prepare guest invoices and receive payments prior to departure.
  • Manage cash floats and maintain accurate records of all transactions.
  • Prepare daily revenue statements and submit the required cash, cheques and credit card slips to Accounts.
  • Ensure all sales and charges are accurately posted to guest accounts.
  • Reconcile sales from different hotel departments and ensure discrepancies are appropriately documented.
  • Complete daily closing procedures and ensure all bookings and sales are recorded accurately in the hotel system.
  • Prepare daily revenue reports and other required reports.
  • Promote upselling opportunities and hotel services.
  • Prepare and circulate daily events information to relevant departments.
  • Ensure proper shift handovers and communicate relevant information to the incoming team.
  • Handle internal keys and maintain proper records.
  • Ensure guest registration information is accurately transferred into the system.
  • Maintain proper filing of reports and documentation.
  • Follow all emergency procedures and hotel safety standards.
  • Participate in training, meetings and shift handovers.
  • Comply with the hotel's sustainability commitments and practices.

Candidate Profile

Qualifications

  • School Certificate (SC) level or equivalent.
  • Professional training in hospitality or Front Office operations would be an advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a related Front Office position.
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Professional and welcoming attitude.
  • Ability to handle cash and guest accounts responsibly.
  • Ability to manage guest requests and complaints professionally.
  • Good knowledge of Front Office operations.
  • Comfortable working with hotel systems; knowledge of WINHMS would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Knowledge of a third language would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
