Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
- Develop and optimise data models and schemas within Amazon Redshift
- Ensure high data quality, accuracy, and consistency across multiple data sources
- Support analytics, finance, risk, and operations teams with reliable and timely datasets
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting layers, working closely with Metabase
- Monitor data performance, costs, and query efficiency within the data warehouse
- Implement best practices around data governance, access control, and security
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and compliance teams to support business and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshoot data issues and perform root-cause analysis
- Document data architecture, pipelines, and processes
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field
- 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or related roles
- Strong experience building and maintaining data warehouses and pipelines
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Redshift (or similar cloud data warehouse)
- Strong SQL skills and experience with large datasets
- Experience working with BI and analytics tools; Metabase experience preferred
- Familiarity with cloud-based data architectures (AWS preferred)
- Experience working with financial, transactional, or high-volume data
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience in financial services, fintech, brokerage, or payments environments
- Exposure to regulated environments with data accuracy and audit requirements
- Experience with streaming or near-real-time data processing
- Knowledge of data orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow or similar)
- Understanding of data security, privacy, and access management
