Job Summary

A well-established supplier of fabric, bed, bath, and table linen based in Port Louis is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sales Assistant to join its team. The successful candidate will support daily sales operations, assist customers, and contribute to business development through excellent service delivery and proactive sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out sales activities and promote company products

Understand customer needs and provide appropriate product recommendations

Assist customers with inquiries and purchasing decisions

Suggest suitable alternatives when items are unavailable

Perform stock-taking and ensure proper inventory management

Prepare and manage product samples

Prepare customer orders and coordinate dispatch of goods

Maintain accurate records of sales leads and update the system accordingly

Provide administrative support to the Sales Department

Actively seek new business opportunities through cold calling and follow-ups

Requirements

Minimum SC or HSC qualification

Proficient in IT tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CRM systems)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proven experience in sales or a customer-facing role

Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy

Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethics

Strategic, adaptable, and supportive team player

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Capable of managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
