Job Description

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Advise clients on the EU General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR") and the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017 ("DPA");
  • Assist clients by performing assessments, reviewing the assessments' results obtained and elaborating mitigation strategies;
  • Assist in drafting policies, procedures and contracts for clients in line with data protection laws and industry best practices;
  • Deliver data protection trainings including training on our toolkit;
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable national and international data protection laws and regulations;
  • Conduct pragmatic research related to all aspects of personal data protection;
  • Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent. 
  • Knowledge of data protection laws and practices, including GDPR
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Good interpersonal skills and takes a methodical and systematic approach to work;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), particularly the ability to interpret and transform complex legislation and policies into effective and clear language aimed at target audiences;
  • Quick learner, eager to learn new skills and apply them quickly to produce results;
  • Self-starter and ability to act independently;
  • Self-motivated and good planner:
  • Strong attention to detail.
