Career Opportunity – Company Doctor

Established in 1989 and part of Ciel Textile, the textile cluster of CIEL Group, CDL Knits Ltd is the Fabric Mill division of the Tropic Knits Group.  Delivering high-quality fabrics to global markets, our fully integrated knitting, dyeing, and finishing facility is located in Forest Side, Mauritius.

We are seeking a dedicated Company Doctor to join our team and look after the health and well-being of our employees. You will run our on-site clinic and provide day-to-day medical care, while supporting the company's health and safety objectives in a manufacturing environment.

Fresh graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide medical consultations, treatment and first aid to employees at the company Medical Post/dormitories.
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and coordinate referrals to specialists or hospitals.
  • Issue medical certificates and advise on fitness for work and return to work.
  • Plan and deliver health awareness sessions.
  • Promote preventive care and healthy lifestyles across all departments.
  • Ensure the Medical post is well equipped, stocked and maintained.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential medical records and prepare regular health reports.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and audit requirements.
  • Work closely with the HR and Safety & Health teams on employee well-being initiatives.
  • Ensure conducting required health surveillance and check-up.

What are we looking for?

  • MBBS or equivalent, registered (or eligible for registration) with the Medical Council of Mauritius
  • Sound medical and diagnostic skills, including emergency care
  • Understanding of occupational health and workplace safety
  • Good Microsoft Office skills and experience keeping medical records
  • Ability to turn health data into practical recommendations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Empathy, integrity and respect for medical confidentiality
  • Well organised, reliable and able to work independently
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
  • Hindi speaking is an advantage
