Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled individual for a Commercial Project Developer role that emphasizes both growth and innovation.
As a Commercial Project Developer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our business strategy and expanding our market presence. Your experience will be vital in identifying new opportunities, building lasting relationships with clients, and developing projects that align with our company values.
1. Identification & Development of Business Opportunities
- Identify and prospect new network development opportunities, including new service stations and Shop, Food & Services (SFS) projects.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and business growth opportunities.
- Identify development opportunities within the existing network, including station renovations, KDRB projects, and SFS expansion through available commercial space optimisation.
- Assess commercial opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives in line with company strategy, in collaboration with the Technico-Commercial Project Developer for feasibility and investment-related analysis.
- Prepare commercial proposals and value propositions aligned with business objectives and investment priorities.
- Prepare project investment files and follow up its validation at different levels including Head Office Validation
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners, investors, landlords, and key stakeholders.
2. Commercial Planning, Negotiation & Contract Management
- Contribute actively, in close collaboration with the Retail Operations Manager and the Technico-Commercial Project Developer, to the preparation of the Network and SFS budget, including volumes, revenues, and capital expenditure assumptions.
- Actively contribute to the segmentation exercise
- Prepare and validate all required reporting with his N+1 before submission to Head Office.
- Contribute to the development of the annual and long-term Network and SFS project plans based on the segmentation exercise and approved strategic priorities.
- Work in close collaboration with the Technico-Commercial Project Developer for project economics, financial models, investment files, and financial validation, which are outside the direct scope of this position.
- Validate the commercial scope, proposed terms, and opportunity development approach with his N+1 and Managing Director prior to execution, based on financial economics provided by the Technico-Commercial Project Developer.
- Initiate and lead commercial discussions and negotiations with landlords (for lease of land), business partners, and service providers after validation of the project’s financial validation with his N+1.
- Structure commercial agreements, including memorandum of understanding and contracts, while ensuring alignment with agreed commercial terms, company policies, governance requirements, and business objectives, in coordination with Legal and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Follow up of contract finalisation with legal team, ensure contract signature and proper implementation of agreed commercial clauses.
3. Stakeholder Management
- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to secure project approvals, alignment, and support.
- Collaborate closely with Network, Operations, Finance, Legal, Marketing, Procurement, HSEQ, and Engineering teams to ensure coordinated project delivery.
- Work closely with the DEX project team, consultants, service providers, and promoters on project design, permitting, and regulatory follow-up.
4. Project Execution Support
- Support project implementation to ensure that approved commercial objectives are delivered.
- Monitor project progress against agreed commercial commitments, schedules, and launch requirements, and escalate key risks or deviations when required.
- Facilitate issue resolution and ensure a smooth handover of completed projects to Network Team.
- Contribute commercial feedback and lessons learned to post-investment reviews, where required, to support continuous improvement and future project performance.
- Initiate and follow up project permitting process with different authorities.
Qualifications / experience required
- University Degree in Business/Marketing and/or Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business and project development, commercial negotiations, stakeholder management, and project implementation.
- Experience in contract negotiations and stakeholder management.
- Market intelligence and commercial strategy development.
- Basic understanding of investment analysis and project economics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.
- Results-oriented and performance-driven.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
