Junior Estimator

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the job incumbent will be mainly required to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate quantity of materials and prepare cost estimates for tenders and quotations
• Carry out site surveys and measurements as and when required
• Take off quantities from plans and prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
• Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers on quotations, tenders, and technical queries
• Liaise and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive prices for materials, equipment, and services
• Maintain and regularly update the pricing database for materials, equipment, and related costs
• Create, maintain, and update client information in the company’s computerized system
• Prepare claims and supporting documentation for projects, including small direct jobs
• Monitor project costs for ongoing projects and assist in preparing regular cost reports

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering or Production Management
• Fully conversant with shop drawings and construction drawings
• Prior experience in pricing metal works would be an advantage

Other Requisites:

• Self-organizer with strong analytical skills
• Ability to work under pressure
