Heritage Le Telfair is looking for a Launderer to join our team!

As a Launderer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all linen, uniforms and garments are properly handled, cleaned, maintained and distributed according to the hotel’s standards.

• Previous experience in a Laundry Department will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, sort and process linen, uniforms and garments according to washing and ironing instructions.
• Check clothes before cleaning and identify any special requirements.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, steam irons and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Receive, check and sort items requiring dry cleaning.
• Weigh laundry items and load machines according to procedures.
• Control the receiving and issuing of team member uniforms.
• Distribute linen, uniforms and rags as requested by the different departments.
• Report any technical defects, unusual matters or operational issues to the Laundry Supervisor.
• Ensure proper handover at the end of each shift.
• Maintain accurate records and follow all hotel procedures and standards.
• Keep the key control record updated and ensure proper key handover at the end of each shift.
• Maintain the Lost & Found register and ensure proper storage of guests’ belongings.
• Work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Participate in training and apply the knowledge and procedures learned.
• Ensure efficient use of materials and resources to minimise costs.
• Support the hotel’s energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices, including the responsible use of electricity, gas and water.
• Comply with all sustainability standards and commitments implemented by the hotel.
• Report any matter that may have an impact on the environment or society to the relevant department.
• Carry out any other duties and specific tasks related to the Laundry Department.
