Job Description
Position Title: Company and Fund Administrative Officer
Location: Vivea Business Park, Saint Pierre, Moka, Mauritius
Reporting Line: Managing Director Company: Investment Management Company (licensed and regulated)
Role Summary : The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the operational, administrative, and financial functions of an Investment Manager and its related investment funds. The role requires strong operational, accounting, and fund administration knowledge and experience. Attention to detail is non-negotiable. Experience in listed equities and African listed equities would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will play a key role in assisting in operational workflows, monitoring fund cash flows, reviewing financial reports, providing shadow accounting, and liaising with brokers, custodians, fund administrators, auditors, and other stakeholders.
The position is based in Vivea Business Park, Saint Pierre, Moka, Mauritius, within a small and professional office environment. The successful candidate will work independently while maintaining close coordination with local and international Board members. This structure requires a high degree of ownership, accountability, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-border team environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fund Operations and Administration
· Assist the Managing Director in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Fund and Investment Manager.
· Liaise with outsourced service providers, including but not limited to Fund administrators, Custodians, Management companies, Legal counsels and Auditors, when required.
· Respond promptly and accurately to operational and investor queries.
· Ensure all internal procedures, operational controls, and compliance policies are followed.
2. Accounting, Reporting, and Financial Oversight
· Review monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) pricing of the Fund, and accounting records prepared by outsourced administrators.
· Perform analytical reviews of accounts and identify discrepancies or anomalies.
· Review tax computations in Mauritius and other applicable jurisdictions.
· Oversee financial reporting processes for both the Fund and the Investment Manager.
· Review financial statements and assist with audit processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
· Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial and operational reporting.
3. Cash Management and Treasury Oversight
• Monitor daily cash balances and liquidity requirements of the Fund.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of cash records.
• Coordinate with custodians and administrators on cash movements and trade settlements.
• Ensure sufficient liquidity is maintained to support trading activities and operational requirements.
4. Compliance, Risk, and Governance
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of trades, reconciliations, and operational activities.
• Support regulatory reporting and compliance monitoring requirements.
• Demonstrate understanding of the regulatory environments and market practices in the jurisdictions where the Fund invests.
• Identify operational risks and support implementation of appropriate controls and mitigation measures.
Flexibility and Additional Responsibilities
The role requires the ability to (1) adapt to non-standard trading hours due to global market time zones (2) work independently in a lean local office environment while maintaining strong communication with the broader outsourced partners; (3) take initiative to improve operational processes, controls, and workflows; and (4) perform any additional operational, accounting, or administrative duties as directed by management.
Qualifications and Experience
Education and Professional Qualifications
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; and/or
• Pursuing professional qualifications such as ACCA
Experience
• Knowledge of listed equities, stock markets and mutual funds’ structure is required
• Understanding of custody, settlement, and trade lifecycle processes.
• Experience working with fund administrators, custodians, and outsourced service providers.
• Understanding of fund operations, accounting, NAV calculation, and financial reporting.
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks governing financial markets and investment funds is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.

Reporting and Accountability
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and will play a critical role in operational oversight of the Fund and Investment Manager. The role carries significant responsibility and requires a high degree of professionalism, independence, accuracy, and accountability. Residing in the vicinity of Moka or the upper Plaine Wilhems would be advantageous and the salary package would be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
