Job Description

HR Officer

Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Mauritius

We are recruiting for our client, a well-established and growing organisation, for an HR Officer to support the day-to-day management of human resources activities and contribute to a positive and efficient employee experience.

Key Responsibilities

The HR Officer will be responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle, including:

  • Managing day-to-day HR administration and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Assisting with recruitment, including job postings, screening, interview coordination and onboarding.
  • Preparing employment contracts, HR letters and other employee documentation.
  • Monitoring attendance, leave and employee movements.
  • Assisting with payroll-related information and ensuring HR data is accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting performance management, employee engagement and internal HR initiatives.
  • Assisting with training and development activities.
  • Ensuring HR policies and procedures are properly communicated and followed.
  • Handling employee queries and providing timely support on HR-related matters.
  • Supporting disciplinary and employee relations processes when required.
  • Preparing HR reports and maintaining confidential personnel files.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable employment legislation and company policies.
  • Assisting the HR team with various projects and administrative requirements.

Profile

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in an HR Officer, HR Executive or similar role.
  • Good knowledge of HR administration and employment practices in Mauritius.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Good command of English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • A proactive, hands-on and service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
