Helper | Warehouse

Overview:
We are looking for a Helper to join our Warehouse team in Pailles.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the safe, accurate and timely delivery of goods by assisting the Driver on the loaded runs, and to contribute to goods handling, storage and cleanliness within the Warehouse, while remaining ready to act as back-up Driver whenever needed so that transport activities continue without interruption.

Your role:

• Assist the Driver on the more heavily loaded delivery runs: load and unload the vehicle, secure the goods for the journey and handle them with care on arrival.
• Prepare the daily deliveries together with the Driver, identifying the right products, references and quantities, for cross-check by the Storekeeper and/or Warehouse Manager prior to loading.
• Drop off and collect goods as and when required, counting them at pick-up and at delivery and reporting any discrepancy straight away.
• Clean the delivery vehicle daily after deliveries and flag to the Driver or Warehouse Manager any maintenance date, defect or repair to be addressed.
• Step in as Driver whenever the regular Driver is absent or unavailable, driving safely and carefully so that all transport activities continue without interruption.
• Receive goods and put them away in their allocated storage areas, following the storage instructions of the Storekeeper and the Warehouse Manager.
• Move and handle goods and equipment with care, including in cold rooms (negative and positive), and report any damage, breakage, rejection or spoilage to the superior as per SOP.
• Keep the warehouse premises, storage areas and working place clean and tidy, and carry out cleaning activities as scheduled.
• Support the Storekeeper in keeping stock well organised and in counting stock whenever required.
• Use materials and consumables sparingly in order to keep costs under control.

Your profile:

• Theoretical knowledge (Form III) and/or prior professional experience
• Holder of a valid driving licence (private car as a minimum; truck licence is an advantage) — so that the Helper can step in as back-up Driver whenever required
• Previous experience in goods handling, warehouse or delivery activities is an advantage
• Good command of English and French
