Data Centre Operator – IT Services

The Operator is responsible of key tasks such as end of day batch runs, generation and printing of statements and reports as well as monitoring of 24 X 7 application services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform batch run, end of day tasks, extractions, file uploads and downloads
• Monitoring activity and access of the Data Centre and its operations section to ensure that there is compliance of security policies.
• Monitoring server, data centre and UPS rooms as per instructions and checklists
• Monitor ATMs, servers, storage, network, logs and error reports.
• Perform system and application backups.
• Monitor system console for error messages, log and escalate problem to system and application administrator.
• Coordinate with other system administrators to guarantee that uptime is maximized so that the data centre can provide quality services.
• Generate, print and distribute daily & monthly reports.
• Generate, print statements and correspondences.
• Handle all user queries efficiently.

PREREQUISITES:

• Candidate should have a diploma in Information Technology from a recognized institution or any qualification accepted by the bank.
• Alternatively, candidate may have 2 A levels and advanced level certificate in IT.
• Candidate should preferably have some experience in the same field.

SKILLS:

• Willing to work on shifts as data centres work round-the-clock.
• Ability to provide an appropriate level of attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced, process driven environmen
