Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

The IT Officer is responsible for providing day-to-day IT operational support, ensuring the smooth functioning, security, maintenance, and performance of the Company's IT infrastructure, systems, and equipment. The incumbent will support users, maintain network and communication systems, contribute to IT projects, and ensure compliance with IT standards, policies, and security requirements.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. IT INFRASTRUCTURE AND SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE

  • Perform daily system monitoring and preventive maintenance of all IT equipment and infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, and maintain:
    • Desktop computers and laptops
    • Printers and scanners
    • CCTV systems
    • IP telephones
    • Mobile devices
    • Wireless networks (Wi-Fi)
    • Access control and fingerprint devices
    • UPS systems
    • Associated software and peripherals
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

2. IT SUPPORT SERVICES

  • Provide first-line and second-line IT support to all employees.
  • Log, track, update, and close IT support requests through the Helpdesk system.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting on:
    • Microsoft 365 applications
    • Microsoft Azure platform services
    • Windows operating systems
    • Printers and scanners
    • Fingerprint and access control systems
    • Push-to-talk radio systems
    • Patrol management systems
    • Gate management systems
    • GSM management systems
    • Cisco access points and wireless infrastructure
    • Cloud telephony systems
  • Ensure timely resolution of support issues while maintaining high service standards.

3. NETWORK ADMINISTRATION

  • Maintain network infrastructure according to standards and guidelines established by the IT Manager.
  • Implement and maintain VLAN configurations.
  • Ensure proper installation and organization of network cabling.
  • Maintain accurate labeling of networking equipment and cabling.
  • Keep networking documentation up to date.
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of firewalls, switches, and network devices.
  • Monitor network performance and report abnormalities.

4. INFORMATION SECURITY

  • Manage and maintain enrollment of company mobile devices, desktops, and laptops within the organization's management portal.
  • Implement and maintain endpoint security measures.
  • Perform Windows updates, security patches, and system upgrades as required.
  • Ensure appropriate access controls and user permissions are maintained.
  • Safeguard physical network infrastructure and IT equipment against unauthorized access.
  • Support the implementation of information security best practices.

5. CCTV AND SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS

  • Manage and maintain CCTV infrastructure and operations.
  • Monitor system functionality and coordinate repairs or upgrades when necessary.
  • Ensure proper recording, storage, and accessibility of surveillance footage.

6. IT ASSET MANAGEMENT

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets.
  • Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and allocation of IT equipment.
  • Identify obsolete or defective hardware and prepare assets for disposal in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure secure data removal and hardware sanitization prior to disposal.
  • Assist the IT Manager with procurement activities, quotations, and purchases of IT equipment and services.
  • Conduct periodic asset audits and inventory reconciliations.

7. PROJECT SUPPORT

  • Assist the IT Manager in the implementation of IT projects and system upgrades.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers on project activities and site interventions.
  • Provide technical support during project execution and deployment activities.

8. IT POLICIES AND USER AWARENESS

  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of IT policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support the delivery of IT awareness and cybersecurity training programs.
  • Promote best practices regarding information security and acceptable use of IT resources.

9. REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION

  • Prepare and submit regular reports on IT operations, support activities, system performance, and asset management.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, system records, and operating procedures.
  • Escalate significant issues and risks to the IT Manager in a timely manner.

10. CONFIDENTIALITY AND COMPLIANCE

  • Maintain strict confidentiality concerning information processed, stored, or accessed through company systems and networks.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, security standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.

11. AFTER-HOURS SUPPORT

  • Provide after-hours, standby, or emergency IT support when required to ensure business continuity and operational efficiency.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar IT support, systems administration, or network administration role.


TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Solid knowledge of:
    • Microsoft 365 suite
    • Windows 11 operating systems
    • Microsoft Azure platform
    • Computer hardware and peripherals
    • Network infrastructure and troubleshooting
    • Firewalls, switches, and VLAN management
    • Wi-Fi technologies and Cisco access points
    • Mobile device management (MDM)
  • Certification in networking, Microsoft technologies, Azure, cybersecurity, or basic electronics will be considered an advantage.
