Job Description
Chemtech Group | Riche Terre, Mauritius
Established in 1983, Chemtech Group is a diversified group of companies spanning healthcare, wellness, consumer, graphics and e-commerce across Mauritius, Madagascar and Seychelles. As the group grows into new ventures and business lines, we are creating the role of Compliance and Legal Lead to own the group's legal, contractual and regulatory position, and to ensure the company operates with 100% compliance at all times.
What you will do
- Own the group compliance calendar and ensure every statutory filing and return, across all departments and entities, is submitted on time.
- Maintain a central register of all contracts, licences and permits, and drive renewals well ahead of expiry.
- Own the group's organisational certifications, including ISO, managing certification, surveillance audits, renewals and supporting documentation.
- Review, draft and negotiate contracts before signature, and maintain standard templates.
- Manage company secretarial matters, including resolutions, statutory registers and filings.
- Lead the legal workstream for new entities, ventures and business lines.
- Own data protection compliance, manage external counsel and advise management on regulatory change.
- Report monthly to the Management on the group's compliance position.
What you bring
- Law degree; admission as a barrister or attorney in Mauritius, or a chartered company secretary qualification, is a strong advantage.
- Five to eight years in a legal, compliance or company secretarial role within a commercial organisation or firm.
- Sound knowledge of Mauritian company, commercial, contract and employment law.
- Experience maintaining ISO or similar management system certifications is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and French, written and spoken; exposure to Madagascar or Seychelles is an advantage.
- High integrity, discretion and the discipline to hold deadlines across a busy organisation.
