Job Description

Our client holds a Payment Intermediary Services license and is a payment service provider specialising in acquiring, transaction processing, and merchant services and is recruiting for the following position: Analyst – Reconciliation, Chargeback, Refund & Transaction Monitoring



Role overview:

The Analyst will play an important role in the day-to-day management of our payment operations, with responsibility for reconciliations, settlements, chargebacks, refunds, and transaction monitoring.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve issues efficiently. You will work closely with merchants, internal teams, acquirers, and service providers to ensure transactions and settlements are processed accurately, and operational risks are identified and addressed promptly.

The role is well suited to someone with previous experience in acquiring, card operations, banking, or payment services who is comfortable working with transaction data and taking ownership of operational issues from identification through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Reconciliation & Settlement

  • Perform daily reconciliation of merchant transactions, settlements, and financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and analyse settlement, transaction, and revenue reports
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Review settlement reports and ensure merchant settlements are accurate and completed within agreed timelines.
  • Liaise with internal teams, acquirers, and external service providers to ensure prompt and accurate settlement processing.

Chargeback, Refund & Dispute Management

  • Process, investigate, and resolve chargebacks, refunds, and merchant disputes in accordance with scheme rules and internal policies.
  • Represent transactions where appropriate and work closely with merchants to gather supporting evidence and documentation.
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all dispute cases.
  • Monitor chargeback activity and highlight recurring trends or areas of concern.
  • Ensure timely and accurate deduction of chargebacks to minimise financial exposure to WorldcardPay and its clients.

Transaction Monitoring & Risk

  • Monitor transaction data for unusual patterns, potential fraud, or compliance issues.
  • Support Acquiring Risk & Operations activities to control risk and prevent losses.
  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date records related to risk assessments and merchant account monitoring.

Merchant Support & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for merchant inquiries related to settlements, chargebacks, refunds, and operational issues.
  • Provide operational guidance and troubleshooting support to merchants.
  • Collaborate with sales and onboarding teams to support new merchant acquisition and activation.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Acquiring / Payment Services, or 3–5 years in Cards operations, or equivalent experience in banking/payments.
  • Solid understanding of payment processing, settlement cycles, chargebacks, and refunds.
  • Knowledge of Visa and Mastercard systems, rules, and processes is a strong advantage.

Skills & Competencies
