Job Description
The Events & Sales Manager is responsible for driving event sales and revenue while ensuring the successful planning, coordination and execution of events at The Ravenala Attitude. The role involves developing new business opportunities, maintaining strong client relationships, coordinating with internal departments and external partners, and ensuring that all events are delivered in line with the Company’s standards and guest expectations.
- Follow up on enquiries received by phone, email, referrals and previous clients, with the aim of turning opportunities into confirmed events.
- Build and maintain good relationships with clients, wedding planners, meeting planners and business partners, while developing new opportunities across the wedding, corporate, social, local and small-group markets.
- Work closely with the General Manager and other departments to identify new business opportunities and create attractive packages and promotions.
- Represent The Ravenala Attitude at trade shows, networking events and other relevant industry events when required.
- Meet with clients to understand their expectations and coordinate all the details of their events, including menus, room set-up, floor plans, décor, timings, rentals, costing and billing.
- Work closely with the relevant departments to make sure everyone is aware of the event requirements and that arrangements are in place for a smooth and successful event.
- Welcome and assist clients during meetings and tastings, helping them make suitable choices while ensuring that arrangements remain in line with the Company’s standards.
- Keep clear and up-to-date records of upcoming, confirmed and past events, including all relevant client and operational information.
- Maintain good relationships with guests and clients throughout the event planning process, responding to their requests and doing what is reasonably possible to meet their expectations.
- Be present and approachable during events, providing support to the team and assisting with any issues that may arise.
- Work closely with external suppliers, contractors and vendors to ensure that arrangements are properly coordinated and delivered as agreed.
- Look for opportunities to increase event revenue through additional services, repeat business and other suitable opportunities.
- Ensure that events are handled in line with the Company’s standards, procedures and service expectations.
- Carry out any other related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the General Manager.
