Senior Accountant

AYO Group is a Mauritian hospitality and real estate group. We are strengthening our finance team and are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant who takes real ownership.

The role

Reporting to the Financial Controller & CFO, you will own the day-to-day accounting, reconciliations and reporting for a portfolio of group entities – with genuine autonomy and a direct line to decision-makers.

What you'll do

• Own the general ledger and month-end close for your entities – journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet schedules
• Prepare monthly management accounts and explain the variances that matter
• Run bank, intercompany, AR/AP and supplier reconciliations and clear outstanding items
• Reconcile hotel revenue across PMS, POS and QuickBooks online; monitor F&B and departmental costs
• Prepare VAT, Tourist Fee and other statutory submissions
• Identify control gaps and process weaknesses, and bring practical solutions
• Work closely with hotel managers, operations and purchasing, and support junior team members

What you bring

• Minimum 5 years' accounting experience, with strong month-end close, reconciliation and reporting skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, SUMIFS) used daily
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks and the ability to pick up new systems quickly
• Rigour, integrity and the confidence to work with minimal supervision

A plus

• Professional qualification (ACCA or equivalent) – completed or in progress
• Experience in hospitality and/or real estate
• Multi-entity or group environment experience

Please note: this is an operational, hands-on accounting role. Fund accounting / fund administration experience (e.g. management companies, GBC structures) is not relevant for this position.
