Head Cook / Demi Chef (Full-Time)

Good Times Investment & Trading Co Ltd is a dynamic organisation committed to excellence, professionalism and exceptional guest experience. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Cook to join our kitchen team.

We are looking for a passionate, experienced and hands-on Head Cook/Demi Chef to lead our kitchen/fast food outlet operations and play a key role in delivering a high standard of food quality and service.

📍 Job Details

• Location: 2nd Floor, Manhattan Heights, Lees Street, Curepipe
• Working days: Monday to Sunday, including public holidays, with one rostered day off per week
• Working hours:
  • Morning shift: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Evening shift: 1 p.m. – 10 p.m.

🎯 Responsibilities and Duties

• Lead, supervise, and train kitchen staff
• Ensure consistent taste, presentation, quality and portion control
• Manage stock, inventory and ordering
• Monitor deliveries, stock usage and wastage
• Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene & food safety
• Monitor food costs, daily operations and ensure smooth workflow
• Allocate tasks and monitor staff performance
• Follow up on equipment, maintenance and operational issues
• Report stock and operational matters to management

✅ Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head Cook/Demi Chef or similar position
• Strong knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
• Experience in stock/inventory control and staff supervision
• Organised, reliable and detail-oriented
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Team player attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Relevant culinary qualification will be an advantage
