Assistant Head of Maintenance

Job Position:

 The role is responsible for developing and monitoring preventive maintenance plans, managing maintenance budgets and spare parts, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship. The Assistant Head of Maintenance also provides technical guidance to the team and supports continuous improvement of maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head of Department in managing daily maintenance operations
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Supervise and support maintenance technicians and contractors
• Monitor maintenance schedules, repairs, and equipment condition
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out safely and efficiently
• Maintain proper records of maintenance work, equipment, and spare parts
• Work closely with Operations and other departments to minimise downtime

Requirements:

• Experience in a maintenance or engineering supervisory role
• Good knowledge of building, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work under pressure and respond to urgent maintenance issues
• Relevant technical qualifications or experience is an advantage
• Experience in hospitality, tourism, or large operational environments is an advantage
