Reneworld Ltd is currently looking for a Design Engineer to join our dynamic and purpose-driven team.  

We are looking for a driven and technically minded Design Engineer to join our team and play a key role in transforming project requirements into practical, efficient and high-quality engineering solutions. The Design Engineer will work closely with clients, surveyors, technicians, contractors and internal teams to develop designs from the initial concept through to project execution, ensuring that every solution is technically sound, commercially viable and delivered to the required standards.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

As a Design Engineer, you will:

• Understand client requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.

• Review and analyse site data, technical information and project requirements.

• Develop and prepare engineering designs, layouts, specifications and technical documentation.

• Use CAD and other engineering/design software to create, develop and visualise solutions.

• Perform engineering calculations and technical assessments to ensure designs are safe, reliable and fit for purpose.

• Investigate existing projects, systems and components and identify opportunities for improvement, optimisation and cost reduction.

• Prepare clear and professional technical reports, specifications, drawings and project documentation.

• Contribute to projects from concept, design and specification through to development and implementation.

• Coordinate with clients, contractors, suppliers, survey teams and internal departments throughout the design process.

• Provide technical guidance and support to technicians and project teams.

• Lead and coordinate technical personnel where required, ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.

• Identify new technologies, systems and processes that can improve quality, productivity, reliability and operational efficiency.

• Ensure designs and projects are delivered on time, within scope, to the required quality standards and within budget.

• Support the wider engineering and operations team with technical problemsolving and other engineering-related assignments.

• A relevant Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent technical qualification.

• Strong technical and analytical capabilities.

• Good knowledge of CAD and engineering design principles.

• Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and a structured approach to work.

• The ability to interpret technical information and convert it into practical solutions.

• Good understanding of materials, functionality, construction and engineering processes.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, technicians and colleagues.

• Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Leadership potential and the ability to coordinate technical teams.

• A commercial mindset, with an appreciation of project costs, efficiency and value engineering.

• A proactive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to work independently and take initiative.

• A flexible approach and willingness to adapt to changing project requirements.

The Design Engineer will be a key technical contributor to the delivery of projects, helping the company improve the way projects are designed, planned and executed.

The role offers the opportunity to work across technical design, engineering analysis, project development, client interaction and operational improvement, while progressively taking on greater responsibility and leadership within the engineering team.
