Job Description

Overview of the Role 🔍

The Head Internal Controller oversees internal controls, audits, compliance, and investigations to identify risks, prevent irregularities, and strengthen operational and financial controls across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities 📋

People Management & Development

•    Support performance appraisals, identify training needs, and recommend development opportunities for team members.

•    Coach and mentor team members while conducting regular on-the-job training.

•    Promote discipline, accountability, and effective employee relations within the team and across Operations.


Internal Control & Investigations

•    Review monthly performance to identify non-compliance, control weaknesses, irregularities, and potential malpractice.

•    Plan and conduct fraud investigations and operational audits as required.

•    Investigate concerns raised by employees, Directors, customers, or other stakeholders.

•    Establish and monitor a strong internal control environment for new outlets, including follow-up visits to ensure compliance.

•    Keep abreast of applicable financial, Health & Safety, quality, and internal control requirements.


Audit & Reporting

•    Review and follow up on audit action plans with the Assistant Accountant and Financial Controller.

•    Establish and monitor quality control procedures in collaboration with Finance and Quality Management.

•    Document and report audit and investigation findings, highlighting key risks, control gaps, and recommended corrective actions.


Ideal Candidate Profile 🎯

•    Minimum HSC with ACCA Level 2, and 2–4 years’ experience in Accounting/Audit, preferably within the tourism or hotel industry.

•    Previous experience in hotel operations, with strong knowledge of Finance, Audit, and Accounting practices.

•    Fluent in English and French, with strong functional knowledge of the hospitality industry.
