Job Description

Your responsibilities

As a Risk & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the APAC Risk & Compliance team and management of the Asia Pacific entities in ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Named Roles: Act as the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer for Alter Domus Mauritius Limited.
  • Risk & Compliance Management: Mentor and support compliance team members in China and the Philippines, driving compliance excellence and adherence to local regulatory requirements across multiple Asia Pacific jurisdictions.
  • Compliance Advisory: Provide guidance on local regulatory requirements and risk and compliance policies and procedures to both internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with technical and operational teams on topics such as Financial Crime, Personal Data Protection, BCP requirements and IT security.
  • AML Escalations: Validate instances of reported money laundering and other financial crime. Compile and submit Suspicious Transaction Report as per local regulatory requirements.
  • Horizon Scanning: Keep track of new regulations, draft regulatory change notifications, oversee their implementation and prepare periodic reports on regulatory development for Senior Management.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Execute regulatory compliance control testing, assess compliance risk, communicate results and deficiencies, monitor mitigation measures implementation.
  • Regulatory Engagement Support: Support Regulatory Affairs with any contact or request from regulators including requests for information, questionnaires and/or regulatory audits.
  • Operational Risk Management: Deliver the operational risk strategy and oversee the identification, assessment and mitigation of regulatory and operational risk within the Asia Pacific region.
  • Additional Tasks: Undertake any other relevant tasks assigned to support the overall risk and compliance function within the Asia Pacific team.

Your profile

  • You hold a bachelor’s in Law, Finance, Compliance, Risk Management, or a related field. A professional certification in Compliance, Accounting, or Finance a plus (CAMS, CAIA, CFE, Certified/Chartered Accountant...).
  • You have 7–15 years of relevant experience in Fund Services and/or Corporate Services, gained through a compliance, internal audit, or regulatory advisory role within the APAC financial services environment. Experience within an Audit & Consulting firm in Asia is a plus.
  • You have an understanding of the Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) sector, including Private Equity, Real Assets, and Debt funds.
  • You demonstrate good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams in multiple jurisdictions.
  • You are proficient in English, both written and verbal. Any other language skills from countries where AD operates is an asset.
  • You are highly organized with strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
  • You are a team player with a willingness to learn, contribute and develop within a dynamic, cross-border Risk and Compliance environment.
  • Experience with compliance monitoring tools, workflow systems, automation or AI-enabled solutions is an advantage.
