Job Description
Job Purpose
The Revenue Clerk is responsible for supporting the accurate recording, verification, and reconciliation of resort revenue. The position ensures that daily revenue transactions are properly reviewed, recorded, and reported in accordance with the resort’s financial procedures and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify and reconcile daily revenue reports from various resort outlets, including Food & Beverage, Rooms, Spa, Golf, and other revenue-generating departments.
- Review daily cashier reports, point-of-sale transactions, and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of daily revenue summaries and financial reports.
- Investigate and follow up on discrepancies between operational reports, cashier declarations, and system records.
- Ensure that all revenue transactions are properly recorded in the accounting system.
- Verify discounts, rebates, complimentary services, voids, and adjustments in line with approved procedures.
- Coordinate with operational departments to clarify revenue discrepancies and obtain missing supporting documents.
- Maintain accurate records of revenue-related documents and ensure proper filing.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including revenue reconciliations and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with the resort’s financial policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Perform any other duties related to revenue accounting as assigned by management.
Candidate Profile
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in revenue accounting, night audit, income auditing, or a similar position within the hospitality industry would be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems and point-of-sale systems is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Good analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
