Medical Laboratory Technologist

Clinique Ferrière de Bon Secours, a human-sized clinic offering preventive, curative and palliative care in Curepipe, is looking for a dedicated Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Analytical (Sample Reception)

• Verify patient identification and ensure correct labelling of samples to guarantee specimen integrity
• Cross-check Laboratory Information System (LIS) electronic request forms against samples received
• Operate centrifuges and prepare working reagents for testing
• Experience in phlebotomy will be an advantage

Analytical (Testing and Laboratory Analysis)

• Perform testing and analysis across major laboratory disciplines, including Haematology and Biochemistry
• Carry out Immunology/Serology testing, including antibody and antigen screening
• Working experience in Microbiology and Bacteriology (stool and urine microscopy) will be an advantage

Equipment Operation

• Handle automated analyzers, microscopes and other computerized laboratory instruments with care and precision.
• Qualifications
• Degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minimum of 1-year relevant experience; OR
• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
• Registration with the Allied Health Professional Council
