Job Description
Reporting to the Head of In-Patient Services, the Culinary / Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for leading and managing all food service operations within the organization, ensuring the delivery of safe, nutritious, high-quality, and cost-effective food services to patients, visitors, and employees for both C-Care Wellkin and C-Care Grand Baie. The role combines strategic food and beverage management with culinary leadership, overseeing kitchen operations, menu planning, food production, patient dining services, quality assurance, food safety compliance, financial performance, supplier management, and team development. The incumbent also works closely with clinical teams, including dietitians and nursing staff, to ensure that dietary requirements and patient expectations are met while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and customer satisfaction. The role is also accountable for budgeting, cost control, inventory management, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance both service quality and business performance. As the leader of the catering function, the Manager develops and mentors teams, drives operational excellence, ensures regulatory compliance, and contributes to the overall patient experience through exceptional food and beverage services.
Qualifications
Formal education required for competence in the job
Bachelor degree in Hospitality Management or Diploma in Culinary Science with Food Hygiene certification.
Health & Safety Certification
Experience
Relevant experience in Food & Beverage, Catering, Hospitality, or Healthcare Food Services.
Demonstrated experience leading both operational and culinary teams.
Experience in financial management, supplier management, and service improvement initiatives
At least 3 years in a managerial role
