Job Description
Responsible for overseeing daily store operations, including receiving, storing, issuing, and monitoring inventory. Maintains accurate stock and financial records, conducts stock counts and reconciliations, ensures proper documentation and internal controls, supervises store staff, and coordinates with the Finance and Procurement Departments to ensure efficient and accountable inventory management.
What you will be doing:
- Manage the store team and organize the day-to-day duties of the team, while reinforcing the procedures & policies for e.g. by providing continuous training.
- Provide overall supervision and management of stores operations including the performance of all stores clerks.
- Liaise with the Finance and Procurement / Purchasing department for fast supplies, delivery of purchase and payment.
- Produce weekly reports to ensure that key critical areas of stock system are controlled, discrepancies addressed and resolved.
- Enforce and maintain accurate written procedures for all inventory control processes and functions.
- Check received stock physically and against invoices.
- Ensure integrity and accuracy in stock management processes.
- Follow the slow - moving, non-moving and about to expire items as per existing procedure.
- Avoid the out of stock of items and the overstock. Check and approve the reordering of stock.
- Maintain proper storage temperature for frozen goods and daily monitoring of temperature.
- Organize stock counts as required and ensures no variances from inventory. Any variances should be immediately report to the HOD.
- Mitigate risks, find solutions for nearly expired & items, organize meetings and follow up actions. When items are expired, ensure that they are destroy and computerized stock as per procedure.
- Ensure that products are stored according to good warehousing and housekeeping practices and / or internal policies and that FEFO (first expired, first out) and FIFO (first in, first out) process is respected.
What are we looking for?
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role.
- Good communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
