Job Description

PROJECT & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Pick N Eat Ltd, a member of Eclosia Group, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Project & Development Manager to support its development ambitions in Mauritius and across the region.

Reporting to the Head of Finance & Business Development, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering key development projects across energy, asset management, capital projects and regional expansion. The position will also work closely with the Managing Director on specifically assigned strategic and energy projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive energy-management initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, reducing consumption and optimising costs.
  • Manage property and lease-related matters, including lease records, commercial analysis and coordination with landlords, property partners and relevant authorities.
  • Oversee asset-management requirements and contribute to improving facilities in line with operational and brand standards.
  • Manage new developments, remodels, relocations, refurbishments and other capital projects from planning and tendering through to completion and handover.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to required standards.
  • Manage project CAPEX, capital procurement and contribute to annual capital planning.
  • Support site selection, feasibility assessments and development planning for new locations.
  • Contribute to Pick N Eat's regional expansion, including market and site assessments, infrastructure requirements, development partners and CAPEX assumptions.
  • Lead selected strategic and cross-functional projects, ensuring clear plans, milestones, budgets, risk management and effective execution.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Property/Real Estate, Project Management, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Ideally 8-10 years' relevant experience, preferably within a multi-site environment such as QSR/food, retail, hospitality, fuel/convenience or commercial property.
  • Proven experience in construction and development projects, CAPEX management and contractor/consultant management.
  • Sound knowledge of property, leases and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong project-management, financial and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience in energy-management initiatives would be an advantage.
  • Exposure to regional or African markets would be an added advantage.
