Job Description
Are you an ambitious HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, working with people and making things happen?
Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa is looking for a dynamic and organised Human Resources Executive to join our Human Resources team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who wants to play a key role in the smooth running of HR operations within a luxury hospitality environment.
YOUR ROLE:
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager, you will act as the link between HR strategy and day-to-day hotel operations.
You will work closely with the HR team and Heads of Department to ensure that HR activities are properly coordinated, followed up and delivered.
You will be expected to be hands-on, while also providing strong oversight of the HR operation.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Following up on HR actions, deadlines and outstanding matters.
- Managing and coordinating recruitment activities and maintaining the recruitment pipeline.
- Supporting manpower planning and monitoring staffing requirements.
- Coordinating onboarding and employee integration.
- Monitoring attendance, absenteeism, leave and Time & Attendance processes.
- Coordinating probation and performance appraisal processes.
- Supporting employee relations and handling day-to-day employee queries.
- Working closely with HODs on recruitment, manpower, attendance, performance and employee matters.
- Supporting payroll-related HR inputs and employee administration.
- Coordinating employee engagement, welfare and HR initiatives.
- Working closely with the Training/L&D function to monitor training requirements and completion.
- Ensuring HR policies, procedures and documentation are properly implemented.
- Preparing and maintaining HR trackers, dashboards and reports.
- Analyzing HR information and identifying trends, gaps and areas requiring action.
- Supporting the HR Manager with HR projects, SOPs and continuous improvement initiatives.
THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for someone who is:
Proactive – you don't wait to be told what needs to be done.
Organised – you can manage multiple priorities without losing track.
Hands-on – you are comfortable getting involved in the details when required.
Strong in follow-up – you make sure actions are completed, not simply assigned.
Confident – you can work professionally with HODs, managers and employees at all levels.
Analytical – you can turn HR information into meaningful actions and recommendations.
Solution-oriented – you look for ways to improve processes rather than simply identify problems.
People-focused – you understand that HR is ultimately about people and the employee experience.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree/Diploma in Human Resources Management, Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
- Good knowledge of HR administration, recruitment, employee relations and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and HR reporting.
- Experience with HRIS and/or Time & Attendance systems will be an advantage.
- Strong Knowledge of Mauritian employment legislation.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French.
