Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the work of electricians and electrical technicians.
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems.
- Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs on electrical equipment and installations.
- Inspect electrical installations, wiring, switchboards, motors, generators, lighting, and control systems.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards, electrical codes, and company procedures.
- Monitor electrical equipment performance and identify potential failures before they occur.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and equipment history.
- Coordinate electrical maintenance activities with other engineering and operational departments.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Manage electrical spare parts, tools, and materials and recommend replacements when required.
- Assist with electrical installation, modification, and commissioning projects.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
- Train, guide, and evaluate electricians and junior electrical staff.
- Liaise with contractors and external service providers when specialized electrical work is required.
- Prepare maintenance reports and provide recommendations to management regarding electrical systems and equipment.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, certificate, or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experiences as chief electrician or any other relevant experiences.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial equipment, and electrical safety.
- Experience with generators, motors, distribution panels, control systems, and troubleshooting is an advantage.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
