Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of electricians and electrical technicians.
  • Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs on electrical equipment and installations.
  • Inspect electrical installations, wiring, switchboards, motors, generators, lighting, and control systems.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with safety standards, electrical codes, and company procedures.
  • Monitor electrical equipment performance and identify potential failures before they occur.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and equipment history.
  • Coordinate electrical maintenance activities with other engineering and operational departments.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Manage electrical spare parts, tools, and materials and recommend replacements when required.
  • Assist with electrical installation, modification, and commissioning projects.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
  • Train, guide, and evaluate electricians and junior electrical staff.
  • Liaise with contractors and external service providers when specialized electrical work is required.
  • Prepare maintenance reports and provide recommendations to management regarding electrical systems and equipment.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma, certificate, or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experiences as chief electrician or any other relevant experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial equipment, and electrical safety.
  • Experience with generators, motors, distribution panels, control systems, and troubleshooting is an advantage.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
