About the Role Currimjee Real Estate Ltd – A Currimjee Company We Are Hiring – Accountant
Currimjee Real Estate Ltd is looking for a proactive, analytical, and detail-oriented Accountant to join its Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing management accounts and financial reports, supporting financial controls and reconciliations, and ensuring timely compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements across the Real Estate Cluster.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee the accounting books for companies within the Real Estate Cluster.
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts, quarterly financial reports, and annual financial statements.
- Review and post journal entries and ensure timely intercompany reconciliations.
- Oversee debtors, creditors, bank, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and project costs, and ensure timely monthly billing of Management, Syndic, Facilicare, and Project Management fees.
- Review salary workings and ensure the accuracy of payroll-related information.
- Prepare and submit quarterly APS filings and support other regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Review XBRL packs prior to submission and support Group financial reporting requirements.
- Participate in forecasting and the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan and budgets.
- Support the preparation of Audit Committee and Board meeting packs and liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Review and improve accounting processes, with a focus on automation, efficiency, and stronger internal controls.
- Provide financial information and support to management, auditors, actuaries, consultants, and other stakeholders as required.
- Provide guidance and support to team members and contribute to the effective functioning of the Finance team.
Requirements
- ACCA qualified or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role.
- Experience in account consolidation and managing subsidiary accounts.
- Real estate or property management experience would be an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of property management software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- High level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
