As Claims Handler, you will be part of the Claims Departmentand your main responsibilities will be as follows:

• To process new claims notifications;
• To collect accurate information and documents to process a claim;
• To analyse claims made to establish whether they satisfy the policy conditions;
• To monitor the progress of a claim;
• To manage personal allocation of claims in a timely and efficient manner;
• To handle claims in line with client expectations and the Company's service standards;
• To perform ongoing reviews of Work in Progress with the objective of reducing life cycle of claims;
• To chase reinsurers for their decisions on claims;
• To review decisions of reinsurers and revert to them if any matters are not clear or which the client/Company is not in agreement with;
• To chase reinsurers for settlement of claims which have been approved until they are paid;
• To raise claims debit notes in a prompt manner as soon as claim is approved;
• To handle any complaints associated with a claim;
• To manage all administration aspects of the claim;
• To adhere to legal requirements, industry regulations and customer quality standards set by the Company;
• To advise the claims team on technical claim handling matters;
• To work in full synchronisation with management and the whole team of CG Re (Africa) Ltd in order to achieve the ambition and strategic objectives of CG Re (Africa) Ltd;
• To ensure that KPIs are met for claims handling at all times;
• To ensure that clients' expectations are met at all times.

Perform other duties (including operational) as designated by the Company, as required.

Profile:

• Bachelors Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Risk Management, CII or any other related fields;
• 2 years of experience as a Claims Handler or Claims Executive in the Insurance or Reinsurance field;
• Outgoing personality and Team Player;
• Excellent communication skills in English and French, both written and spoken.
